Keď mala January 7 rokov, našla Dvere. Dvere, ktoré vedú do takých svetov, ktoré vám ani kompas neukáže, vedú „inam“. A predovšetkým, Dvere prinášajú zmenu.

“But you still know about Doors, don’t you? Because there are ten thousand stories about ten thousand Doors, and we know them as well as we know our names. They lead to Faerie, to Valhalla, Atlantis and Lemuria, Heaven and Hell, to all the directions a compass could never take you, to elsewhere. ”

Zmenu priniesli nielen do jej života. Spolu so záhadnou knihou, ktorú hrdinka objaví, máme zrazu pred sebou osudy niekoľkých, zdanlivo spolu nesúvisiacich postáv.

Dej sa odvíja trochu pomalším tempom, po čase si však naň zvyknete a záver každej kapitoly vás núti pokračovať ďalej v príbehu. Neskôr začína všetko do seba krásne zapadať a súvislosti vám vyčaria úsmev na tvári a zahrejú romantickú dušu.

“One does not fall in love; one discovers it.”

A nezabudnime poukázať na tú vydarenú, prenádhernú obálku... Aj keby sme nemali súdiť knihu podľa obalu, dôvod, prečo som siahla po tejto knihe, bola práve obálka a nezvyčajný názov knihy. A som rada, že som tak urobila, pretože som našla skvost aj vo vnútri. Naozaj celkom vydarený debut autorky, ktorý sa snáď dočká aj slovenského prekladu. 

Pre mňa jednoznačne jedna z najkrajších kníh roku 2019.
